When people are hired for every reason but merit, then they don’t really have to do their actual jobs. That has been the case in Hawaii for a long time. RBN doesn’t allow talking or commenting about it, as prior comments on this topic have been removed.
It gets even worse. When people are hired for every reason but merit, then parasites, and some actual well-intended people who are very naive, end up adopting, encouraging, and spreading the “no merit” culture because easy to perform grand theft (in the case of the parasites) and emotions (in the case of the misled parasites).

Fires in Maui become a catastrophe because always-right actors, who are complicit, do not permit open critique. Any open critique and commentary might expose who is complicit.
