Here is my take on who fired the shot on April 19, 1775 in Lexington – As a little kid growing up in Boston, I memorized this poem: “Listen my sons and you shall hear, of the midnight ride of Paul Revere – on the 18th of April in ’75, hardly a man is still alive.” The old Boston Post Road still runs thru Lexington – probably a two hour ride by horse – back in the day, they called Paul Revere the “Thug.” He is likely the one who fired the shot heard round the world.
