Consider the possibility that, in dialectical fashion, we are being moved along an ‘Overton Window’ styled spectrum of (pure) good and (pure) evil, layed out horizontally, as if mapped to a linear timeline.
On the far left you have A) the Garden of Eden and total innocence (Gen 2:25) and on the far right you have Z) total depravity (Gen 6:5). Another way to view what we are experiencing is the timeline in reverse. In other words, what is referred to as ‘progressive’ in today’s America could very rightly be viewed as ‘regressive’–i.e.: back to Genesis 6 via Genesis 11.
