I was interested in the KJ Bible debate tonight. and was left wondering if the faithful, repentant believer can have edifying fellowship with groups using 19 different Bible Versions, all so diverse from each other that they qualify for their own individual copyright. The NIV for example changes the Lord’s prayer, so that the prayer is redirected onto the father of this fallen world at Luke 11:2-4. It is 141 years since Westcott and Hort introduced their ‘New Greek Text’, which is simply a repackaged Alexandrian Gnostics, ‘Ben Asher’ text, a subtle perversion of the ‘Ben Chayim’ text used by the KJB translators. Westcott and Hort were denounced by the church of the day for the heretics that they were. Here in my country New Zealand, the NIV pushed the KJB from our Court Houses to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Westcott and Hort’s ‘New Greek Text’. Just as modern versions replace ‘Jesus’ or ‘Christ’ with a generic ‘lord’ in many places, which plays into any religion, NZ’s Labor Party under Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, removed the words, ‘Jesus Christ’ from the Prayer with which our Parliament is opened. Didn’t Jesus warn that a falling away would pre-empt his second advent and that the faithful will be killed by people who believe they are doing God’s work?
