Unfortunately, Ms. Oberst seems to have adopted the language of communitarian code-speak while conveying her thoughts about this development. As such, I have no quibble about her concerns since they are concerns which we should all share.
The problem is with words like community, sustainability, and our common future – we all THINK we know what these seemingly innocuous-sounding words mean; but the sad reality is they portend a nightmarish destiny for ourselves… and our progeny, I can assure you.

We have gleefully entered the netherworld of 21st century techno-slavery. Remember language itself is a technology… that can be wielded like Orwellian agitprop – hence, a weapon! And this utopian (dystopian?) future promised us [because Man is just oh-so “smart”] is just that: S.M.A.R.T. (Self Monitoring [of] Analysis [and] Reporting Technology)
If anything, factory food IS in our futures – whether we want to pretend otherwise… or not! And those lovely GRIN technologies will light all of our paths.;)
