Kelso’s goin’ out on a limb tonight on April 1, 2020. I keep noticing that the Chinese Virus shows a very noticeable and consistent pattern in different nations. After it breaks out widely in each country the cases reported rise sharply for about 17 days. And then, the newly reported cases drop off markedly from then out. Nations with outbreaks that preceded ours in the U.S. have almost all shown this pattern. They include the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Australia, France, the UK, Switzerland, South Korea, Austria, Belgium, and Germany. Now, I’ll climb out on the limb. Three nations are right now at the 17-day point of their dramatic rise in reported cases: the United States, Israel, and Canada. So, if our Chinese Virus tracks with all the downward-trending nations above,then we will see falling numbers starting right about now in the U.S., Israel, and Canada. Let’s insert the caveat here that mass testing of the public is just now starting, which may obscure or hide what would otherwise have been a declining number of “reported” new cases. The first big outbreak in the U.S. was at the Kirkland, Washington senior home. That area is now past the 17-day mark. And, the report yesterday was that hospital admissions for the Chinese Virus have just now declined in Washington State for the first time since the outbreak. That could be anecdotal since it’s just one area, and just for a couple of days. But let’s see what we get over the next week, nationally. Let’s cross our fingers that the 17-day pattern is a baked-in-the-cake feature of this Chinese Virus. And let’s hope that this 17-day pattern, which may include a 17-day time frame for the defensive response of our own more-miraculous-than-medicine-will-ever-emulate immune systems, will enable President Trump to masterfully END the shutdown of the economy that he had roaring only one month ago.
