Today, Dec. 12, 2024, President Trump receives the salute of “Person of the Year” from Time Magazine. Even though “Person of the Year” is not necessarily a “salute”, in that it can be instead only a recognition of importance (for good or ill), in this 2024 case it is a salute. And, more importantly, the vast American public perceives it thus.
