The great names in the Patriot Cause mount up! Here on December 17, 2024, we contemplate the brilliant words of Dutchman Geert Wilders, founder and leader of the surging Party for Freedom (Partei voor de Freiheit). Wilders today brilliantly quotes the words of Alexander Solzhenitsyn, spoken at the Commencement of very different Harvard on June 8, 1978 (my 30th birthday), where Solzhenitsyn said, in Russian: “A decline in courage may be the most striking feature which an outside observer notices in the West in our days….a decline in courage, at times attaining what could be termed a lack of manhood,” Ouch. The truth can hurt!
