Co-host: Paul Fromm | Never a dull moment with The Trump Phenomenon! On January 3, 2018 we get the leftwing press salivating over the impending publication, set for January 9, of a book designed to do as much damage to the Trump White House as possible. The title is “Fire and Fury”. The author is Michael Wolff, whose reputation includes strong criticism from people previously quoted in his books who say they were misquoted badly. None of us have access to the book now, but from excerpts appearing in The Guardian, which apparently was given an advance copy by Wolff, it appears that Wolff makes a big effort to provoke an irreparable discord between Donald Trump and Steve Bannon. One of the tricks of the trade that is as old as the hills used to generate a rift between two people is to misquote one of them talking about the other. Bannon himself must be in a fairly helpless position to set the record straight on what he may actually have said to Wolff since he probably doesn’t have any access to a copy of the book himself. And meanwhile, 6 days before its release, the leftwing buildup of this book has already sent it up to #1 on Amazon in sales. Or so says Amazon. And here I’m noting the possibility of another trick of the trade, which Jeff Bezos (who hates Trump and us Trumpers) knows very well….which is the art of making a book #1 by simply claiming that it’s already #1…..causing everybody to want their own copy. Of course we’ll all be on the edge of our seats to hear from Steve Bannon what actually happened in the conversations that he (very mistakenly) had with Michael Wolff.
