Co-host: Paul Fromm | A fascinating development of the last two years, the Trump Years, is part of the verbal fare in our July 23, 2018 Trump Phenomenon show. In these two years, the 54-year-old Jeff Bezos, has made 2/3 of his current world-leading wealth of $151 billion dollars. In the last year of the Obama catastrophe Bezos’ wealth dropped from $50 billion to $45 billion. The 72-year-old Trump’s economic transformation of America has been the greatest contributor to the over $100 billion dollars Bezos has gained in less than two years since Obama. So, where’s the gratitude? One of Bezos’ larger philanthropic donations has been $33 million dollars given to the children of illegal immigrants who were smuggled into the U.S. as minors. Doesn’t look good if that’s an indication of where Bezos’ heart lies. Another interesting twist to the Bezos story is that the name of his birth father is Jorgensen, not Bezos (his stepfather), and Bezos, after Jorgensen sort of abandoned him as a child, doesn’t want to meet his birth dad. You couldn’t make this stuff up! $100 billion dollars in two years, all based on one simple idea which any of us could have had: “I can make money by selling things online.” Imagine being Mr. Jorgensen: “Boy, I wish I’d done better by my kid.” I guess. Is 54 years old young enough that we could hope Jeff Bezos could come around to some conservative common sense about how the world (that he now in some significant part owns) works?
