On Nov. 30, 2018 we at the Trump Phenomenon share Pat Caddell’s harsh judgment this week of the Never-Trumpers who still crowd in around Donald Trump at the White House: “He (Trump) has got a White House that is essentially still the people who oppose him. It’s not just his government, it’s also his White House. Trump is on his way to losing the next election, and I don’t care what they think they know. If he keeps these same people, he will lose.” That’s stern stuff, and it’s all the more sharp in that Pat Caddell was the top pollster for the campaigns of George McGovern (72), Jimmy Carter, (76 and 80) Gary Hart (84), Joe Biden (88) and Jerry Brown (92). Has Caddell had an epiphany? In 2012 he helped out on the anti-Obama documentary “The Hope and the Change” produced by Citizens United. More recently, in the 2016 election, Pat Caddell had considerable influence with Robert Mercer, who was one of the few super-rich donors and activists to support Donald Trump.
